Creating GenAI Music Video
Today, I'm excited to share my experience of creating my very first music video using various AI tools. This journey has been eye-opening, showing me the incredible potential of generative AI in the creative process. Let me take you through the steps I followed to bring my musical vision to life.
## 1. Crafting the Lyrics with Gemini
My first stop was Google's Gemini AI to help me generate lyrics. I gave it some of my inspirations and ideas, and after a few attempts, I stumbled upon something that really resonated with me. It took some back-and-forth, tweaking prompts and refining outputs, but the result was a set of lyrics that felt suitable.
## 2. Visualizing the Song with Gemini
Next, I turned to Gemini again, this time to create a visual representation of my lyrics. This process required a couple of iterations. I described the mood and key elements from the lyrics, and after a few tries, Gemini produced an image that more or less captured the essence of my song. This image would later serve as the foundation for my music video.
## 3. Bringing the Music to Life with Suno
With lyrics and visuals in hand, it was time to create the actual music. I used Suno, an AI music generation tool. Remarkably, I was satisfied with the very first option it provided – a two-minute song that matched the mood and rhythm I had in mind.
## 4. From Still to Motion with RunwayML
To transform my static image into a dynamic video, I turned to RunwayML. Using the picture generated by Gemini as a starting point, RunwayML's AI brought it to life, creating a video, though not perfect, but good enough for this experiment.
## 5. Putting It All Together
The final step was to merge the audio and video. Thankfully, RunwayML also offers a free editor toolset, which made this process a breeze. I used their video editing features to sync the audio with the visuals. To extend the video to match the full two-minute duration of my Suno-generated track, I utilized RunwayML's reverse video generation feature, creating a seamless loop that ran for the entire length of the song.
## The Final Product
And voilà! After these five steps, I had my very own AI-generated music video. It's a creation that's uniquely mine, yet born from the collaborative efforts of various AI tools.
We often hear about how GenAI is making programming accessible to everyone, but now I've seen firsthand how it's democratizing art and music creation as well. It's fascinating to think that anyone with access to these tools can become a music producer, a visual artist, or a videographer.
However, this realization also brings up an intriguing question: While these tools make creation more accessible, will they also redefine what it means to be "good" or "successful" in these fields? The barriers to entry have certainly lowered, but perhaps this will shift the focus more towards unique visions, innovative use of AI tools, and the human touch that guides these AI collaborations.
As I sit back and watch my GenAI-assisted creation, I'm filled with excitement for the future of creativity. Whether you're an established artist looking to expand your toolkit or a curious beginner wanting to dip your toes into creative waters, I encourage you to explore these AI tools. Who knows? Your next big hit might be just a few prompts away!
